Warriors’ defense executes miserably in their 131-110 loss against the Grizzlies

On Thursday night, the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Golden State Warriors 131-110, adding to their road difficulties. The Warriors appeared out of sync the entire game against a Grizzlies club. Steph Curry, Jordan Poole, Donte DiVincenzo, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green were the starters for the Warriors under Steve Kerr’s small-ball strategy against the Grizzlies. However, the Grizzlies started strong and took the lead early in regulation, 21-8.

Golden State made comebacks to pull within four and five points in the second and third quarters, but ultimately they were unable to overcome the home team’s 53.8 percent shooting, 18 3-pointers in 40 attempts, and 42-32 advantage on the boards. Curry had 29 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and a +2 plus/minus in the final scoring statistics. Green scored 16 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, had 7 assists, and had 3 steals but also made 5 mistakes.

Poole had a game-worst plus/minus of -33 despite having scored 22 points on 10 field goal attempts, while Thompson was only 6-for-14 from the field with 14 points.

With 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists on 6-for-13 shooting from the field, Jaren Jackson led the way for Memphis. 22 points and Desmond Bane added 11 assists from Tyus Jones.
